It may get loud around the Everett Naval Station at times over the next 3 weeks.

Last week there were coordinated security exercises as Naval Installations across the Puget Sound that wrapped up on Friday. This week and for the next few weeks there will be additional security exercises at Naval Station Everett that include activities near the front gate. Here’s more from Kristin Ching at the base:

Naval Station Everett will be conducting security training exercises on the following days: Feb. 20, Feb. 27, March 5, and March 6. Each exercise will take place between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The exercises will include demonstration activity near the gates, brief gate closures, blank rounds, active emergency response vehicles, and emergency mass warning notifications on the base outdoor loudspeakers.

Naval Station Everett security personnel and emergency responders are conducting these training exercises as part of a regular certification program to maintain and improve their qualifications.

They will also provide valuable training opportunities for coordination between Navy personnel and mutual aid partners in local law enforcement.
