The main area for Water Main T replacement

A water main break today has added stress to people already coping with traffic hassles along Mukilteo Boulevard as the City of Everett Public Works Department works on the Water Main Replacement T project. During repair work, multiple homes were without water service on the south side of W. Mukilteo Blvd., between Seahurst Ave. and Ridgemont Dr. and traffic on W. Mukilteo Blvd. was reduced to one alternating lane. People arriving home in the Glenwood Neighborhood should run their water tap for a few minutes to clear the lines of both sediment and air.

The Replacement T project is replacing aging 8-inch and 12-inch cast iron main on West Mukilteo Boulevard with new 12-inch ductile iron main. Not counting today, the West Mukilteo main segment, about 1,000 feet, has broken 4 times since 1990.

There has been preliminary work going on recently and according to the city’s project website the main portion of the job will run into early summer.
