It may get loud around the base.

A heads up for those in the neighborhood around Naval Station Everett Wednesday morning. Here’s the information from the base.

Naval Station Everett will be conducting a security training exercise tomorrow, Jan. 23. The exercise will take place between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. During the exercise, there will be brief gate closures for five minute intervals.

Blank rounds will be used as part of the simulated exercise scenario. There will also be active emergency vehicles and responders at the base waterfront and in the harbor.

This exercise requires the testing and use of the base outdoor loudspeakers that are used for mass warning notification during real world emergencies. Regular use of the emergency notification system is mandated at all Navy installations.

Naval Station Everett security personnel and emergency responders are conducting these training exercises as part of a regular certification program to maintain and improve their qualifications.
