Beachcomber Finds Detached Human Foot In Shoe On Jetty Island In Everett, Washington

A Major Crimes detective arrives on Jetty Island.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner was called to Jetty Island in Everett, Washington New Year’s Day by Everett Police after a beachcomber reported finding a detached human foot inside a shoe on the beach. It will be up to the M.E. to try and identify the remains.

While strange, human feet washing up on the shores of Islands in the Salish Sea is not unheard of. Over the last decade more than a dozen such cases have been reported in British Columbia. There is an entire Wikipedia page dedicated to the discoveries.

Everett Police Spokesman Aaron Snell confirmed to MyEverettNews.com that marine unit officers were called to Jetty Island and they sought assistance from EPD’s Major Crimes unit. Snell tells MyEverettNews.com the Medical Examiner will conduct testing to confirm the remains are human and try and determine an identity and cause and manner of death if possible.
