Neighbors say the exercises are getting louder with the new speaker system.

While some residents have begun to complain about the frequency and volume of security exercises at Naval Station Everett the base says the drills will continue and more are set over the next two weeks. Here’s the latest.

Naval Station Everett Security Exercises Nov. 28 and Dec. 5-6

Naval Station Everett will be conducting security training exercises scheduled on the following dates: Nov. 28, Dec. 5, and Dec. 6. On each day, the exercise will take place between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

During the exercises, there will be brief gate closures for five minute intervals. Simulated exercise scenarios will include the shooting of blank rounds and small groups of exercise actors gathering near the base entrance. There will also be active emergency vehicles and responders at the base waterfront and in the harbor.

These exercises will require the use of the base outdoor loudspeakers that are used for mass warning notification during real world emergencies. Regular use of the emergency notification system is mandated at all Navy installations.

Naval Station Everett security personnel and emergency responders are conducting regular monthly training exercises as part of a certification program to maintain and improve their qualifications.
