Lane Changes Coming To 529-East Marine View Drive Interchange Tuesday

October 21, 2018

This configuration begins Tuesday.

Here is the suggested route to avoid the construction area completely. Use 19th Street and Broadway to bypass the intersection going south.
Use 16th Street and Broadway to bypass the intersection going north.

The Washington State Department of Ecology has finished one phase of the Everett Smelter Cleanup in the area of 529 and East Marine View Drive. Now they are moving into a second phase which means changing lane configurations in the work zone as they move to the other side of the street.

The new lanes will go into operation Tuesday morning (10/23) and the work is expected to take six to eight weeks.

DOT says to complete the cleanup and keep motorists and workers safe, these closures will be in effect:

· No through traffic on East Marine View Drive.

· The exit from northbound Broadway to East Marine View Drive will remain closed.

· The only access to the northbound Broadway/SR-529 on-ramp will be from the north, on southbound East Marine View Drive.

· The only access to Riverside Road will be from the south, on northbound East Marine View Drive.

· The only exits from Riverside Road will be left or right turns onto East Marine view drive.

Motorists approaching the project site will find detour and warning signs.
