Police Blotter

Patrol vehicles from Everett PD and SCSO block 112th SW on September 4th.

112th street is one of those areas of south Everett that depending on which part of the street you happen to be on you could be inside the Everett City limits or in unincorporated Snohomish County. Over the last three weeks the Snohomish County portion has been seeing an uptick in violent gang activity.

On September 4th an 18-year-old was shot on 112th SW just east of Boeing Employees Credit Union.

On September 19th a man was shot during an altercation outside of the Market at 112th and 4th Avenue West.

On Wednesday night (October 3rd) a teenager was stabbed in the 800 block of 112th SW. Here is the latest on that from Courtney O’Keefe with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

Last night at approximately 10:21 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a physical altercation between several males in a parking lot in the 800 block of 112th St SW. An 18 year-old male was stabbed. He was transported to the hospital by a private party with non-life threatening injuries.

Major Crimes detectives are confident this incident is gang related. Detectives continue to investigate the incident and are working to identify the individuals involved. The 18 year-old victim has not been cooperative with investigators.

O’Keefe says SCSO detectives have seen a recent rise in gang-related incidents in South County. Since January 2015, South County has had 82 gang related shootings. Of those, 26 subjects have sustained gunshot wounds and 5 of those have been victims of homicide.

Everett Police recently reported that gang related incidents inside the Everett city limits are down and they have launched a new gang unit and several initiatives to try and reduce the appeal of gangs among young people within the city.
