On Wednesday night (October 3rd) a teenager was stabbed in the 800 block of 112th SW. Here is the latest on that from Courtney O’Keefe with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
Last night at approximately 10:21 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a physical altercation between several males in a parking lot in the 800 block of 112th St SW. An 18 year-old male was stabbed. He was transported to the hospital by a private party with non-life threatening injuries.
Major Crimes detectives are confident this incident is gang related. Detectives continue to investigate the incident and are working to identify the individuals involved. The 18 year-old victim has not been cooperative with investigators.
O’Keefe says SCSO detectives have seen a recent rise in gang-related incidents in South County. Since January 2015, South County has had 82 gang related shootings. Of those, 26 subjects have sustained gunshot wounds and 5 of those have been victims of homicide.
Everett Police recently reported that gang related incidents inside the Everett city limits are down and they have launched a new gang unit and several initiatives to try and reduce the appeal of gangs among young people within the city.
