Both drivers had to be cut from their cars.

Three Engine Companies, Two Medic Units, The Technical Rescue Rig and a Battalion Chief all worked together to free two drivers after a crash shut down all lanes of Evergreen Way for about an hour Wednesday evening.

It happened shortly after 6 PM when two cars crashed in the 7100 block. The impact was so severe that each driver had to be cut out of their cars by Everett Fire crews.

Both drivers were taken by separate medic units to Providence Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

Everett Police traffic units were investigating the crash. Traffic detectives were not called out.
