Cops on the night shift hear a lot of interesting explanations. M-E-N file photo.

At about 3 am on Monday morning, Officers Sinex and Russell were dispatched to the 2900 block of Federal Ave on the report of two men pushing motorcycles down the road. Upon arrival, they found one male with a motorcycle in a parking lot. The man told officers the engine stopped working during a test drive and he couldn’t remember the sellers name or address. Officers thought it odd that the motorcycle had been hot-wired and its engine was cold.

A short distance away officers found the second man as he was “sleeping” next to the motorcycle. When woken up the man exclaimed, “What is this bike doing in front of me?”

The first man eventually told officers they had taken the motorcycles from someone’s house and pushed them to keep quiet. He also said his buddy promised him half the money when the bikes were sold. For their efforts, both men were booked into jail for possession of a stolen vehicle while the owner recovered his motorcycles.
