Editor’s Update Sunday 9:47 AM: Here is the latest from Everett Police.
Just after 8:00 pm on September 8th, officers were dispatched to the 9700 block of 19th Ave SE on the report of hit and run collision. Responding officers found an adult female had been struck and killed by a vehicle that did not remain at the scene.
Detectives with the Traffic Safety Unit believe the female, in her late 50’s, was crossing 19th Ave SE in an eastbound direction when a northbound vehicle struck her. At this time, detectives believe the suspect vehicle is a red SUV likely to have damage to the front.
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office took custody of the body to determine cause and manner of death and will provide identity once family has been notified.
19th Ave SE was closed for about 2 hour during the investigation.

Editor’s update 11:10 PM: The roadway re-opened about 10:45 PM with Everett Police reporting the investigation as a hit and run. No suspect information available yet. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner will determine the identity of the victim and the cause and manner of death.
9:15 PM Saturday Sept. 9th:
Detectives from EPD’s traffic safety unit are trying to determine exactly how an adult female was killed. Shortly after 8:00 PM witnesses called Snohomish 911 to report a woman in the roadway on 19th SE. Medics were called to the scene and determined the woman was deceased.
Early indications are it is a hit and run of some type but the investigation is in the very early stages. We will update this report as more information is made available by Everett Police.
