The city says it is still gathering names for the committees.

On Wednesday the Everett City Council will select people tasked with writing the pro and con statements for the local voter’s guide with regards to the city council districts proposal on the November ballot.

The council is to appoint up to three members for the following committees:

  • A Pro committee for Proposition #1 to write a statement for the measure and a rebuttal to the Con committee’s statement.
  • A Con committee for Proposition #1 to write a statement against the measure and a rebuttal to the Pro committee’s statement.
  • A Pro committee for Proposition #2 Option A to write a statement for Option A (5 districts + 2 at large)
  • A Pro committee for Proposition #2 Option B to write a statement for Option B (4 districts + 3 at large)

The City of Everett administration says the names of the people who are being presented to the council for consideration are still being assembled and will be provided to the council prior to the meeting on Wednesday. In looking at the City of Everett’s districting web page MyEverettNews.com was not able to find how they are selecting the people or how someone who had interest may apply for one of the committees.
