Pedestrian Killed, Shutting 529 Between Everett And Marysville

Editor’s Update Wednesday July 18th 10:15 PM: The Snohomish County Medical Examiner has identified the victim in the crash as 46-year-old Jonathan D. Lundberg, of Everett, WA. The suspect is being held in the Snohomish County Jail on $250,000.00 bond. Prosecutors have until Friday to file formal charges or release the suspect.

Editor’s Update 3:00 PM: A 33-year-old man from Arlington has been booked into the Snohomish County Jail by Everett Police on suspicion of Vehicular Homicide in relation to the crash. He is expected to make an initial court appearance tomorrow afternoon.

Editor’s Update 5:50 AM: All lanes of northbound 529 have been re-opened. The driver of the vehicle involved has been detained by Everett Police who say the driver was impaired. Investigation is ongoing. Medical examiner will release the identity of the victim.

The crash happened about 3 AM just before Union Slough.

4:30 AM Update: Everett Police Traffic Safety Unit Detectives are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed on northbound 529 between Everett and Marysville.

The crash was reported around 3 AM. Everett Police shut down 529 completely at 28th Street NE.

That means drivers can get to Dagmar’s Marina and BMC West but have to turn around and go back on East Marine View Drive to Everett Avenue to get onto northbound Interstate 5.

Everett Police say alcohol may have been a factor in the crash and the vehicle driver has been detained.

No ETA yet on the roadway reopening.
