Another view of the lift as PUD crews work to restore power.

A 5-year-old boy and his father were transferred from Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett to Harborview Hospital in Seattle in serious condition after a lift he was riding in with his dad touched live electrical lines in an alley in downtown Everett.

No word at this time why a man would take his son up in a lift surrounded by electrical lines and that is one of the questions investigators will try to get answered.

Wires came down and power was out to about 1175 customers in the downtown Everett area according to the Snohomish County PUD outage map.

The Everpark garage was shut down while crews de-energized the power lines. It happened just before 1 PM in the alley west of 2800 Cloby running behind the Everpark Garage. Power was restored to the area by 3 PM.

Once the local investigation reveals exactly what the two were doing in the lift other State safety agencies may be called into look at the incident.

Here are a few MyEverettNews.com photos of the scene in the alley.
