Another sure sign of summer, street crews repaving streets at various locations throughout Everett, Washington.

Starting today crews will grind down and remove old pavement, install new traffic detection wires, and repave and re-stripe roads across the city. You can see a map of which streets are slated for repaving here.

Drivers can expect lane closures and traffic delays during construction. Signs will be posted advising motorists of detours, street closures and parking restrictions. The city’s contractor, Granite Construction, is responsible for notifying affected homes and businesses.

Work begins today through Thursday on 49th street SW, 51st street SW, Crest Lane, E. Crest Lane and Alder street in central Everett. You can see the entire proposed work schedule here. Weather and other issues can cause delays or other issues with the timeline.

Work will happen both day and night and is projected to wrap up in September but again weather could push things into October. If you have questions or concerns on the project you can contact Construction Manager Mike Kangas at (425) 257-7731.
