Sweet Older Dogs Need Foster Homes In Everett, Washington

Older dogs need love too. Here’s information on a new senior dog foster program being launched by the great people at the Everett Animal Shelter.

The Everett Animal Shelter is seeking volunteers for a new senior dog foster program that will help provide the best possible care for older dogs while they await adoption.

While many dogs do well at the shelter while they await adoption, senior dogs can have a difficult time adjusting to the noisy, busy environment. The new program will help to give older dogs the best possible outcome, starting with getting them out of the shelter and into a home environment.

“The shelter is really excited about this new program and we hope community members will open their hearts and homes to these sweet, older dogs,” said Dee Cordell, shelter operations coordinator. “These dogs will be much healthier, a lot happier and less stressed while in loving foster homes.”

Interested volunteers must attend a no-obligation foster care orientation and training in order to participate. The first training will be Wednesday, June 20, 6 to 8 p.m., at the Everett Animal Shelter, 333 Smith Island Rd. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. and advance registration is not required.
