The Everett Police Marine Unit recovered a body that had been spotted in the water between Jetty Island and the Everett Marina this morning.

About 10:30 AM Snohomish County 911 received a report of a suspicious circumstance where one person asked another to call 911 after they said they spotted a body in the water.

Everett Police and Fire units responded and began searching the area. The body was located near the guest dock by Boxcar Park at the Port of Everett.

Fire crews secured the body and the Everett Police Marine Unit conducted the recovery.

The body was turned over to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office who will work to determine the person’s identity and cause and manner of death.

At this time there are no other details available.

We’ll update as information is provided by authorities.
