No injuries but the Snohomish County Chapter of the American Red Cross is helping find temporary shelter for five adults and a child following a fire at an apartment building on Highway Place in central Everett.

The fire broke out around 11 AM this morning (Wednesday) in the 5900 block of Highway Place.

According to a fire investigator on the scene the initial indication is there was a plumbing project underway in one of the apartments when flames shot up into a space above some pipes.

The fire extended into a wall with smoke moving up the second and third levels of the building.

The fire was quickly put out by the initial crews but they had to open up walls in at least two apartments in order to make sure the flames did not move through the walls into the upper units.
