Sprinkler Stops Kitchen Fire From Spreading At South Everett Apartment
The sprinklers kept the flames contained.
Firefighters traded their hoses for squeegees to contain the water damage.
Casino Road was shut down in both directions in front of the apartments during the afternoon commute.
The Red Cross is helping two adults and three children after a kitchen fire at an apartment in south Everett.
The fire was reported around 3:30 PM at a second floor apartment in the 300 block of Casino Road.
A sprinkler activated and was able to knock down the flames before crews arrived.
The first crew in reported lots of smoke and water damage.
Everett Firefighters checked to make sure the fire hadn’t spread into the walls and also checked a lower unit for water damage.
An Everett Fire Marshal is on the scene working to determine how the fire started.
No word at this time on the amount of damage. No one was hurt.
