Shooting At Far West Motel Brings Out Heavy Everett Police Presence

3:00 PM Update: A person has been arrested in this morning’s shooting at the Far West Motel. At about 1:45 PM a man matching the suspect’s description was spotted on the south play field of Madison Elementary School. The school locked the doors and police located the person of interest at the end of Morgan Road near East Beech Street. He was taken into custody without incident. He was checked out by medical personnel from Everett Fire before being transported to the Everett Police north precinct. Later tonight he is expected to be booked into the Snohomish County Jail on suspicion of 1st degree assault. Multiple Everett Police detectives and patrol officers are in the area of Pecks Drive looking for evidence.

12:20 PM Update: The active search by Everett Police patrol officers is over and now detectives have taken over the investigation and are working to identify people who were at the scene and the shooter. The victim was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett. No word on the victim’s identity or injuries. Madison Elementary School was put into lockdown while patrol officers searched for the suspect. The school is back to normal operation now.

11:00 AM: Everett Police are investigating a shooting this morning at the Far West Motel at 6030 Evergreen Way. One person was taken by Medic Unit from the scene. There is a heavy police presence in the area. We will update as more information is available.
