A man wanted by Everett Police has been put into a medically induced coma after hitting his head on the pavement in the parking lot of a south Everett Motel.

Saturday evening Everett Police were called to the Sunset Motel in the 8400 block of Evergreen Way on a report of a wanted person in one of the second floor rooms. Everett Police made contact with the man in a room who slammed the door on them and refused to come out. Patrol officers tried to make contact with the man while they applied for a search warrant. After more than an hour the man burst out of the room next door and ran north along the balcony walkway. At the end of the walkway the man either jumped or fell off onto the pavement below striking his head. Medics were called and the man was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett. There it was determined he had swelling on his brain and was placed into a medically induced coma.

Back at the Motel, Everett Police determined the man had broken through the drywall in one room and made his way into the room next door. From there he burst through the door and ran north until coming off the balcony. Everett Police ended up arresting a man and a woman who were associated with the suspect. The man for rendering criminal assistance and the woman for felony malicious mischief and rendering criminal assistance. Damage to the motel room was estimated at about $1800.00

The suspect in the hospital has a record of recent felony arrests for taking a motor vehicle without permission, criminal impersonation and trafficking stolen property in the first degree.
