The Hummer was impounded and the driver arrested for suspicion of DUI

Around 11 AM Sunday morning Everett Police were called to the 1600 block of Everett Mall Way for a large Hummer SUV blocking a lane in front of the Sherwin Williams Paint store.

The first arriving officer found a maroon Hummer SUV stopped in the southbound lane. At first glance the officer could not tell if there was anyone in the SUV as the windows were all tinted.

The officer walked up and saw that there was a person in the driver’s seat and another in the passenger seat but both were unresponsive. The SUV was running but the doors were locked.

Additional police arrived and blocked the Hummer in so it wouldn’t lurch into traffic. Officers noted two people in the back seat who also were not responding to police banging on the windows.

Aid was called and police finally were able to force their way into the driver’s side of the Hummer.

All four people were checked and found to be in various levels of intoxication. The driver was detained for investigation of DUI and the Hummer was impounded. The three passengers were released.
