Before last night’s drop of the puck at Angel of the Winds Arena the Everett Silvertips and Portland Winterhawks stood together at center ice in a moment of silence to honor the victims in a bus collision involving the Humboldt Broncos Friday night. Ten players on the Humboldt Broncos team, aged between 16 and 21, died when their team bus collided with a semi-trailer in Saskatchewan.

After the puck drop over $11,000 in proceeds was raised through the Silvertips 50/50 raffle and cash donations, all benefiting the Broncos and their families.

The Everett Silvertips travel tens of thousands of miles on busses every season and Tuesday the team will board another bus to travel to Portland to play the Winterhawks in game three of their WHL Playoff series. Safe travels, boys.

By the way the Silvertips shut out Portland Saturday night tying the seven games series at one each. Two games in Portland this week (Tuesday and Thusday) with game five here in Everett Friday night. Click here for ticket information.
