Village Inn

The public notifications were posted this week.

Burger King

The public comment period is open on the project.

We told you about it last November, they have been planning it since 2015 and now it appears the old Village Inn Restaurant at 8525 Evergreen Way is about to be demolished and replaced by a Burger King. This week pubic notices were posted on the property as the permit review enters its final stages.

Village Inn

A fence was put up years ago to try and keep out squatters and metal thieves.

The Village Inn was a popular restaurant but was damaged by fire in 2011. Back then the plan was to rebuild but that never happened and the building fell into neglect with squatters, metal thieves and graffiti artists pretty much having their way with it.

Initial planning to convert the property to a Burger King began in 2015. That was put on hold and reactivated late last summer. Plans to move forward were approved at the end of January of this year.

In looking at other plans along Evergraan Way MyEverettNews.com came across two projects in the very preliminary stages. The Dennys Resaturant at 8417 Evergreen Way closed back in July 2017. It appears that building may become mixed use with a Panda Express Drive thru restaurant as one of the businesses.

Further north at 7601 Evergreen Way at the Cascade Plaza Shopping Center the former Chang’s Mongolian Grill and also Flights Pub have been demolished and it appears a new building may be going up containing a couple of retail spaces and a restaurant. No word yet on tenants or timeline there.
