One Dead At Scene Of North Everett House Fire

Editor’s Update Tuesday March 6th 5:00 PM: The Snohomish County Medical Examiner has identified the person who died in the fire as 57-year-old Lola E. McKee. The cause of death was smoke inhalation. The manner of death is Accident. Lombard fire

lombard fire The body of a person was found inside a burning house in north Everett Wednesday night. Shortly after 10 PM calls began coming in about smoke pouring from the eaves of a small house in the alley west of 2524 Lombard. The first incoming fire engine found smoke and flames coming from the front of the home.

Firefighters quickly attacked the fire first from the outside and then as they moved to an interior attack reported finding the body of a person who was obviously deceased.

Crews knocked down the remainder of the fire and now investigators with both Everett Police and Fire are on the scene looking for how the fire may have started. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner arrived around midnight and will determine the identity of the person and cause and manner of death.
