A 25 member committee is asking for a public review of the proposed math materials.

The Everett School District on Thursday will hold the first of three public open houses to give parents and community members a look at the latest math materials proposed for middle schoolers in Everett.

Staff, parents, students and community members are invited to review and provide input about the prospective middle school mathematics instructional materials at the following open houses:

Thursday, March 1, 5:30-7 p.m.         Community Resource Center, San Juan Island Room

Tuesday, March 6, 4-6 p.m.               Gateway Middle School Library

Wednesday, March 7, 4-6 p.m.          Community Resource Center, Board Room A

This year, a team of 25 staff and community members participated in a critical analysis of middle school mathematics instructional materials. They will provide to the superintendent and school board a recommendation of an instructional program that aligns with the standards and is responsive to the needs of 21st century learners. Part of this comprehensive process is to invite staff, community members and parents to review the materials and provide input. The team will make their recommendation in May 2018.
