The ramp from I-5 was closed for about an hour and a half.

Friday afternoon plainclothes detectives with Seattle Police followed a stolen SUV from north Seattle down I-5 toward Everett.

Around 3 PM, with assistance from Washington State Patrol they tried to stop the vehicle northbound I-5 in heavy traffic. The stolen SUV did not stop.

Marked WSP units gave chase past 41st street. A trooper used a spike strip to pop the tires on the SUV along the shoulder of I-5 approaching Marine View Drive.

The SUV took the exit, lost control and ran into a guard rail at the bottom of the ramp.

A WSP K9 vehicle blocked the SUV which tried to reverse into their rig before the driver and a passenger surrendered to troopers and Seattle cops. Both had warrants.

The ramp from northbound I-5 to East Marine View drive was closed by police as they investigated the crash.

The ramp reopened shortly before 5:00 PM. There were no injuries.
