Plan on accessing West Marine View Drive from the north on Saturday.

A heads up if your Saturday plans take you to the Everett Waterfront. West Marine View Drive will be closed between 7 AM and 7 PM between 19th street (the south main entrance to Naval Station Everett) and Everett Avenue. Crews will be taking down the old pedestrian bridge from the former Kimberly-Clark parking lots over West Marine View Drive. Here’s more from a press release issued by WSDOT today.

People who use State Route 529/West Marine View Drive near Naval Station Everett will need to plan extra time into their travels this weekend.

Contractor crews working with the Kimberly-Clark Corporation will close a section of SR 529/West Marine View Drive to safely remove an overhead pedestrian bridge.

Closure details
Both directions of SR 529 between Everett Avenue and the entrance to Naval Station Everett at 19th Street will be closed from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24. A signed detour will be in place for those who need to get to and from Naval Station Everett.

Travelers should also plan for possible daytime lane closures in either direction of SR 529 on Friday, Feb. 23, as crews prepare the pedestrian bridge for removal.

In the Snohomish County area, drivers can get real-time traffic information on their phone with the WSDOT traffic app, following the WSDOT traffic Twitter feed and get advanced information from the Snohomish County Construction Page.
