The Everett Fire Department will not call you to solicit funds. Hang up if you get a call.

Got word this afternoon from the Everett Fire Marshal that someone maybe spoofing their number as part of a scam. Here’s what they had to say.

The Everett Fire Department wants to warn residents about a possible impersonation phone scam that is circulating through the community.

A Snohomish County resident, outside the city limits of Everett, recently reported receiving a phone message from a person who claimed to be the Everett Fire Marshal. It is unclear what the intent of the caller is, however, we believe more than one person has been contacted. Additionally, the person or persons who are involved in this activity are using a City of Everett Fire Department phone number as their caller ID.

In general, residents are reminded that the fire department, to include the Fire Marshal’s Office, do not call homeowners or business owners to solicit, money, donations, or to sell things.

Please do not give these callers your personal information. If you have already done so, contact your local police department to make a report.
