Shawn Yanity, Chairman of the Stillaguamish Tribe of Indians says this was a business decision for the tribe.
Previously known as Xfinity Arena at Everett, that naming rights agreement ended late this summer.
PFD Chair Gary Weikel told MyEverettNews.com they have been working for more than a year to secure a new naming rights sponsor.
“We’ve met with companies from Everett to Chicago in looking for a good fit,” said Weikel.
Shawn Yanity, Chairman of the Stillaguamish Tribe of Indians said the arena naming agreement was a business decision. “We’re looking forward to not only having our name out in Everett and beyond but also that this will help the arena to succeed which will help both local businesses as well as the City of Everett and Snohomish County,” Yanity told MyEverettNews.com.
Indoor signage is already up and work is underway to change the outdoor signage likely by the end of this month. The agreement runs through 2028 and could be extended.
The new name is already on the website at AngeloftheWindsArena.com.
