One of Everett’s newest firefighters works on containing the fire.
A weed control project got a little out of hand this morning.
A worker was using a hand held propane torch on some landscaping in the 8800 block of 3rd Avenue SE when the hedge in the area where he was working caught fire, quickly spreading to cable and phone lines above.
Everett Fire crews were able to keep the fire contained to about a twenty-five foot section of the hedge.
Cable and phone crews were called to check for damage to the lines.
