The alert only went about 10 minutes.

Around 9 o’clock this morning there was a brief alert for Horizon Elementary School as a man with a knife ran near a school playground from the Park 120 Apartments.

According to Aaron Snell at Everett Police, workers at the Park 120 Apartments found some squatters in an apartment. When confronted, one of them brandished a knife at a worker and ran off on foot towards 5th Avenue West. Mukilteo School Spokesman Andy Muntz tells MyEverettNews.com the man ran near the perimeter of the school and administrators were made aware but the school did not go into lockdown.

An Everett Police Sergeant found the man and held him at gunpoint until backup arrived. A knife was recovered and the man was detained for investigation of 2nd degree assault.

The whole incident lasted about ten minutes and again the incident did not directly involve the school.
