No Decision Tonight On Siting Of Second Methadone Clinic In Everett
Planning Commission photo from earlier this year.
A few days ago we reported on
tonight’s scheduled Planning Commission Meeting regarding a second methadone clinic in Everett and that after a public hearing the staff was recommending a second location either in north Everett north of 24th street or south Everett south of the Boeing Freeway. Now it looks like the public hearing will move ahead but no decision tonight. Here’s a message just in from Meghan Pembroke at the City of Everett…
Ahead of tonight’s scheduled hearing on opiate substitution treatment facilities, City staff have been looking into questions raised by the public and planning commissioners, including reviewing legal developments since the original opioid treatment facility zoning ordinance was passed in 2003. The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing tonight to take public testimony, but staff will recommend that the hearing be continued until Dec. 5. Staff will bring back a new recommendation and proposed amendment, based on tonight’s public testimony, the Commission’s discussion and further legal review.
So yes you can give testimony tonight starting at 6:30 at Everett City Council Chambers at 3002 Wetmore but don’t expect a decision.
Everett, methadone
