The work is weather dependent.

If you use Highway 526 (the Boeing Freeway) there are some closures planned for the weekend, weather permitting. Here’s the scoop from WSDOT…

Drivers who use the Interstate 5 ramps to westbound State Route 526 in Everett should prepare for overnight closures Saturday, Oct. 14 and Sunday, Oct. 15. Closure hours are:

Saturday, Oct. 14

  • Southbound I-5 to westbound SR 526 closed 10:30 p.m. to 9 a.m.
  • Northbound I-5 to westbound SR 526 closed 8 p.m. to 9 a.m.
  • Westbound SR 526 reduced to one lane 7 p.m. to 10 a.m.

Sunday, Oct. 15

  • Southbound I-5 to westbound SR 526 closed 10:30 p.m. to 3:30 a.m.
  • Northbound I-5 to westbound SR 526 closed 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
  • Westbound SR 526 reduced to one lane 7 p.m. to 3 a.m.

Signed detours will be in place. The work is weather-dependent.

During the closures, contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will install permanent striping. The work is part of a $4.5 million project to preserve SR 526, which is the primary route between Boeing Everett and I-5.

In the Everett area, drivers can get real-time traffic information on their phone with the WSDOT traffic app, tracking the WSDOT traffic Twitter feed and get advanced information from the Snohomish County Construction page.
