10-05-17 10:00 AM: MyEverettNews.com has learned a 13-year-old was arrested Wednesday night in the shooting death of a 14-year-old boy at the Walden Pond Apartments in south Everett.

Everett Police were called about 5:00 PM Wednesday afternoon to a report of a shooting and found a juvenile male had been shot near a walkway behind an apartment building. CPR was performed on the boy and he was transported by medics to Providence Regional Medical where he later passed away.

K-9 teams, Everett patrol officers and a helicopter all searched for the suspect who had reportedly run from the apartment complex after the shooting. That search proved to be unsuccessful but around 9:45 PM a 911 call led Everett Police to the suspect at a bus stop on Casino Road. He was detained without incident and taken to the Everett Police north precinct.

Shortly after 10:00 PM MyEverettNews.com spotted a K-9 team searching the area around the bus stop where the suspect had been spotted. It is unknown if any evidence was recovered there but a gun was recovered late last night off 18th Ave W. The 13-year-old suspect is expected to make an initial court appearance this morning.
