The PUD and Arkive Records Management are holding this free shredding event so our customers can safely dispose of their sensitive paper documents.
You’ll also find special deals on energy-efficiency kits for sale.
How much can I shred?
You are allowed to shred contents (see acceptable list below) that fit into two banker boxes (a banker box is approximately 24″ long x 12″ wide x 10″ tall).
What you CAN shred:
- Paper
- Envelopes
- Printed materials
- Brochures
- File folders
- Letterhead products
- Post-its
- Junk mail
- Hand written notes
- Pads of paper

What you CANNOT shred:
- Cardboard
- Paper from medical supply packaging
- Food or food containers
- Wrappers
- Glass
- Metal sheets
- Solid wood products
- Solid plastics
- Styrofoam or packing
- Toner cartridges
- Wet waste/garbage
- Liquids
- Towels and tissues
- Aluminum cans
- Binders (three ring binders)
