Everett Police spokesman Aaron Snell tells MyEverettNews.com that more than 30 firearms were taken including handguns and rifles.
The burglary was well planned with three masked men participating and bringing in containers to haul the guns out. They were in and out in about 90 seconds after backing a car into the front doors around 3 AM. They did make a clean get-away. Snell says they are not believed to be connected to any other crimes in Everett. Investigators are going over video and running down identification numbers on the stolen guns.
Meanwhile two men made their first court appearance today after being arrested for burglary, theft and malicious mischief for breaking into the Sears store at the Everett Mall.A witness reported seeing two men breaking into the north doors by the automotive center around 4:30 AM Saturday. Responding Everett police officers located the two in a nearby parking lot and detained them. An Everett Police K-9 tracked the two from the store to where they were stopped.
One of the two confessed to officers and and led them to more than $5800.00 worth of jewelry that was stashed in the truck of their get-away car. An officer wrote in probable cause papers that when removing a bat from the front pants of one of the suspects, glass shards and rings fell out onto the ground.
The two are not believed to be connected to the burglary at the pawn shop but are thought to be involved in a smash and grab at the Lynnwood Goodwill store where socks, a foot stool and a rug were taken.
