If you’ve driven past Everett Community College today you may have noticed a lot of Everett Transit vehicles on Tower street just west of Broadway. They are being used by the top transit drivers in the State to practice for the Washington State Public Transportation Roadeo tomorrow.

There are two main events. A Maintenance Competition involving seven different transit agencies and an Operator’s Competition with more than two dozen drivers going against each other. It’s a prelude to the 41st Public Transportation Conference, Vendor Expo and Roadeo going on at various venues in Everett through Wednesday.

The Operator’s Competition is open to the public and begins Sunday morning at 7:30 AM. There are bleachers available and the event is free to watch. It is located in the Everett Community College parking lot just north of Tower street.

The rest of the WSTA conference is not open to the public but it is nice to know that the top transportation planners in the State will be spending the next few days in Everett, Washington working on our future transportation needs.
