Everett has reached the red for air quality

The City of Everett is starting to warn people who are attending city events over the next couple of days about the dangers from the smoke in the air. People going to the Music at the Marina at the Port of Everett are being told to proceed at their own risk. The City has cancelled Cinema Under The Stars at Silver Lake Park form Friday night.

Tonight’s Music at the Marina concert will be proceeding as scheduled. We would however, like to inform all citizens of an ongoing air quality alert in our area. At this moment, due to several wildfires in Washington / British Columbia the air quality in our region has been listed as “unhealthy for sensitive groups.” We ask folks to please proceed with caution and are providing links below with additional information regarding this. Again, the music will still be happening this evening.

• Washington Smoke Blog http://wasmoke.blogspot.com/
• Washington State Department of Ecology https://fortress.wa.gov/ecy/enviwa/ This site provides a map of active air quality issues
• Washington State Department of Health’s Wildfire smoke page http://www.doh.wa.gov/…/AirQua…/SmokeFromFires/WildfireSmokeThis site provides information on how to protect yourself or your family from wildfire smoke.

Just spoke with the folks holding the Badges for Baseball event at Kasch Park and that will continue tomorrow as scheduled.

If you have outdoor events in your schedule over the next couple of days you may want to check to see they are still on.
