K12 Online School Meet And Greet Set For Tuesday

Editor’s update 7/11/17: I had a chance to stop in at the meet and greet at Mukilteo today. Lisa Smith-Proffit is a former counselor with the Mukilteo School District who now counsels kids in the K-12 program. She tells MyEverettNews.com there are two programs under the K-12 umbrella. Washington Virtual Academy for kids from kindergarten through high school and Insight Washington for kids in grades 9 – 12. “This is not home schooling,” said Proffit. “Kids who graduate are getting their high school diploma, not a GED and have an actual graduation held at Bellevue College.” Proffit says there are assemblies held once a month through their class connect program and in addition to teachers there are engagement specialists and counselors to help students. If a student misses a class session due to illness or travel, all sessions are recorded so lessons can be made up and students don’t fall behind. If you’d like to learn more, click here.

Prospective and enrolled students and families are invited to join an experienced K12 teacher to learn more about our curriculum and public school programs, participate in an engaging STEM project, socialize and relax. Please register so we know how many people we’re expecting.
