Fire Damages Home South Of Everett On Center Road

Editor’s Update 11:00 PM: Just received this update from Fire District 1…An investigator from the Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office determined this fire was started when an electric heating element on the stovetop inadvertently got switched on and ignited nearby cardboard boxes. Damage estimate is $175,000.

Editor’s Update 5:36 PM: Fire District 1 just provided the following information…One woman was transported with minor injuries, 2 boys treated at the scene. This is a duplex, not a 4plex.

One person suffered minor injuries and at least one unit was heavily damaged in a fire Friday afternoon in the 700 block of Center Road south of Everett.

Fire was reported about 4:20 PM in a 4-plex. Smoke and flames were coming from one side of the building as firefighters from District 1 arrived.

Crews from Everett Fire provided mutual aid. It took about 30 minutes for crews to get the fire under control. No word yet on the cause of the fire or a damage estimate.
