Everett Police Announce Arrest In Death Of Shannon Yeager

Editors Update Tue 6-27-17 9:07 AM: According to probable cause papers obtained this morning by MyEverettNews.com the suspect in the murder of Shannon Yeager is a man convicted of previously killing his wife and who admitted to a decades old killing of a co-worker. The man was living in the house at 24th and Pine but the murder happened near the Pigeon Creek trail. We will not be reporting the details of the crime due to their graphic nature. A probable cause hearing for the suspect is set for 1:00 PM today in Everett District Court.

On Friday Everett Police were told of a person’s body found on the Pigeon Creek trail on the Everett waterfront. Later that day they announced the identity of the person as 46-year-old Shannon C. Yeager.

Tonight Everett Police detectives were seen serving a search warrant at a house at the corner of 24th and Pine and just a few minutes ago Aaron Snell issued the following press release regarding an arrest…

Since June 23rd, detectives have investigated the death of 46 year-old Shannon Yeager in the 2900 block of Terminal Ave, along the Pigeon Creek public access trail, after BNSF Railroad called 911 to report a body near the tracks. Shannon sustained inflicted injuries that led to her death but the specifics are being held for investigative reasons.

During the course of the investigation, detectives contacted several people with information about the victim and spoke with a male Shannon was dating. The male, a 62 year-old from Everett, was interviewed by detectives and confessed to killing Shannon. He has been booked into the Snohomish County Jail on murder charges.
Detectives continue investigating.

The suspect is expected to make his first court appearance tomorrow afternoon.
