Everett Police Misidentify Suspect In ATM Fire

Everett Police today say a man they named as a suspect in a fire set at an ATM last week is in fact not a suspect. Here is a press release issued by Everett Police earlier today…

Everett Police seeks help locating suspects that torched bank ATM

At about 6 a.m. on May 30th, Everett Fire responded to the Coastal Community Bank (10520 19th Ave SE) on the report of a fire alarm. A fire had started inside the business when someone used a cutting tool to access the ATM. Property damage has been estimated at over $35,000 for the burnt cash, broken  ATM, and building repairs.

Detectives have identified 31 year-old Jason Kovar, of Everett, as a suspect and hold probable cause for his arrest on arson and burglary charges. Additionally, Kovar is wanted for questioning on several commercial burglaries throughout Snohomish County. The male pictured in the Monster jacket is currently unknown.

Eli Steen has been interviewed by detectives and cleared of involvement.
