Received the following update this morning from the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office regarding a death investigation in south Everett yesterday at a house across from Mariner High School.

Detectives with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a 59 year-old man and a 54 year-old woman, both of Marysville, in connection with the murder of an Everett woman. The man was booked for 1st degree murder and the woman was booked for 1st degree rendering criminal assistance.

They were arrested after detectives learned that on May 25, the victim caught the male attempting to burglarize the home. He is suspected of killing her then attempting to conceal her body in her room at her residence in the 12000 block of 4th Ave W. The victim’s roommate found her body early yesterday morning and called police.

Release of the name of the victim is still pending from the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office, as well as the cause and manner of her death.
