Death Investigation To Slow Afternoon Commute Out of Everett

Editor’s Update 5:59 PM: The Sheriff’s office released the following…The vehicle belonging to the 50 year-old deceased woman was located around 1:30 p.m. today at a business in the 1300 block of Marysville. A 59 year-old Marysville man found with the vehicle has been detained for questioning, but no arrests have been made in the suspicious death investigation.
Detectives are onscene at the residence in the 12000 block of 4th Ave W in Everett where the woman’s body was found earlier this morning. They are working with the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab to process evidence at the scene.
Release of the name of the decedent is pending from the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office, as well as the cause and manner of her death.

Southbound 4th Avenue West will be down to one lane in front of Mariner High all afternoon.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s office is investigating what they are calling a suspicious death that happened overnight in a house on 4th Avenue West in south Everett across from Mariner High School.

Shari Ireton with the Sheriff’s office asked us to pass along the fact that one southbound lane of 4th Avenue West will be blocked off through the afternoon commute.

You may want to take an alternate way to 128th and I-5 leaving south from 112th.

Here’s the information provided by SCSO so far regarding the investigation.

Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office major crimes detectives are investigating the suspicious death of a 50 year-old woman at a residence in the 12000 block of 4th Ave W. The woman’s roommate called 911 around 1:20 a.m. to report finding her deceased. Based on evidence at the scene, detectives believe her death to be suspicious. Detectives expect to be on scene investigating throughout the day and evening. Release of the name of the decedent is pending from the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office, as well as the cause and manner of her death.

One southbound lane of 4th Ave W is currently blocked to traffic at 120th St SW and will continue to be closed as long as investigators are onsite.
