Heads-Up On Boeing Freeway (526) Closure Sunday

If you normally take the Boeing Freeway (526) on Sundays, here’s something to keep in mind this weekend…

Drivers who use southbound Interstate 5 and westbound State Route 526/Boeing Freeway to get to South Everett or Mukilteo should prepare for possible delays Sunday morning.

Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews need to close several lanes of westbound SR 526 and the southbound I-5 off-ramp to replace two overhead signs. The new signs will be more reflective, making them easier to read in the dark.

Closure details

Crews will close up to two right lanes of westbound SR 526 between I-5 and Evergreen Way from 12:01 a.m. to 7 a.m. on Sunday, May 21. The southbound I-5 off-ramp to westbound SR 526 will also close to traffic during that time.

A signed detour will be in place to help navigate motorists from southbound I-5 to westbound SR 526.
