A SWAT team was called in to search a house on Oakes yesterday.

A man and woman are in the Snohomish County Jail and more arrests are possible after Everett Police served search warrants in north and south Everett yesterday.

In north Everett a SWAT team was used to search a garage in the 1000 block of Oakes Avenue last evening. Police obtained a search warrant after getting information that stolen firearms, possibly taken in a recent burglary, were being stored in the garage. It was also believed that people associated with the house were trafficking narcotics in Snohomish County and one person was possibly involved in recent drive-by shootings. Members of the region 1 SWAT team executed the search warrant where a firearm and drugs were seized.

A few hours prior to that raid, Everett Police Anti-crime team members arrested a 19 year-old man and 22 year-old female for possession of heroin with intent to distribute. They had been watching a south Everett motel where the two had been spotted. After watching the two for some time the police stopped a car the two had left the motel in and called in a drug dog which alerted to narcotics in the car. After obtaining a search warrant Everett Police found heroin, two pistols, (one of which was stolen) plus cash, drug packaging materials and scales along with drug ledgers. The two are believed to have a connection to the house on Oakes that detectives are following up on today.
