While the patch may be rough to drive on until the weather improves the good news is what is underneath. 1400 feet of new water line. Today the City of Everett announced the Broadway water project is complete.

Crews have finished installing a new water main in the southbound lane of Broadway Avenue, ending several months of traffic delays and lane closures.

Crews replaced 1,400 feet of 1950-vintage cast iron pipe along Broadway, from 35th Street to Pacific Avenue. The new pipe will improve water flow and reduce the risk of breaks.

Due to weather constraints, the roadway was temporarily patched, and drivers can expect a rough surface. The roadway will be resurfaced in early summer as part of the city’s 2017 street overlay project.
