Original Post 8:45 PM:

A SWAT team was called out to the 4000 block of Hoyt this afternoon after a woman reportedly pointed a shotgun out of the window of her home. It began about 2:30 PM after a call to 9-1-1 from others in the house. The woman would not cooperate with Everett police and told them to leave.

Based on the report of her use of and access to weapons, a SWAT team was called out. Hoyt was shut down between 40th and 41st and several Everett Clinic offices were closed. The McDonald’s at 41st and Rucker also closed.

Negotiators were called in and spent hours talking to the woman. Finally she agreed to come out of the house about 8:30 PM and was taken into custody.

Aaron Snell with Everett Police tells MyEverettNews.com the woman will be taken for a mental health evaluation.

We’ll provide more detail as it becomes available from Everett Police.
