One Dead, One In Hospital in North Everett Shooting

Editor’s Update 11:00 AM: Everett Police spokesperson Sgt. Maryjane Hacker tells MyEverettNews.com today’s shooting appears to stem from a drug deal that turned into a robbery and went bad. One man has been booked into the Snohomish County Jail on drug charges and the other male was released. Police have recovered more than one handgun and the investigation is ongoing. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner will determine the identity and cause and manner of death of the man found dead in a yard in the 2300 block of Lombard.

One man is dead and another is at Providence Regional Medical Center following a shooting just north of Clark Park on Lombard. It happened shortly after 1:30 this morning.

Everett Police Sgt. Maryjane Hacker tells MyEverettNews.com officers were on a call in the 2200 block of Rockefeller when they heard gunfire.

They headed toward the sound of gunfire and an 18-year-old man came out near a house in the 2300 block of Lombard and told them he had been shot.

He was taken by medic unit to Providence Regional Medical Center with wounds to his abdomen and shoulder. At last word he was in stable condition.

Other officers stopped a car and detained two men trying to run from the area. Another man was reportedly running from the scene.

A K-9 was brought in to look for that man and any evidence.

Officers located a hat in an alley and shell casings and other evidence in the 2300 block of Lombard.

After an initial sweep of the area, a second K-9 was brought in to continue the search.

That K-9 located a man between two houses in the 2300 block of Lombard. Officers began CPR on the man but after aid crews arrived he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two men who had been detained were a 22-year-old from Kenmore and a 22-year-old from Bothell.

They are currently being interviewed by Everett Police Major Crime Detectives. Police will be getting a warrant for their car.

No identities of the shooting victims yet but both are believed to be from Everett.
