The public is invited to Wednesday’s awards ceremony

The annual awards ceremony for the Everett Police Department is set for Wednesday afternoon.

It is being held at the Everett Performing Arts Center on Wetmore and will start at 3:30 PM.

The awards ceremony will include “Of the Year” acknowledgements, Certificates of Merit, Letters of Commendation and Citizen Recognition.

“It’s always nice to be able to recognize the hardworking officers in the Everett Police Department, as well as our Everett citizens who are out there making a difference in our community,” said Dan Templeman, Everett Police chief.

The public is invited but if you can’t make it, here is a list of this year’s honorees…

Awarded to an outstanding patrol officer, within their first five years of service, who is selected for their dedication to the community and proactive police work.

MEDAL OF MERIT
Awarded to department members who distinguish themselves in the line of duty by acts of personal bravery or actions directly contributing to saving or significantly prolonging human life.

Presented to any non-department member who materially aided the department or its officers in some way. This includes assistance in the solution of crime or the apprehension of criminals, aiding an officer in the field during a critical situation, and cooperation with or assistance to the department as a whole in any aspect of the department’s administration or operations.
